Genesis

Authorship: The author of Genesis is Moses. We know from scripture that Moses wrote portions himself: Num 33:1-2. However, there isn't anything specifically saying that Moses wrote the creation accounts. What I believe is that Moses gathered and edited some of Genesis from traditions and documents that were held at that time. Creation wasn't that far removed from Moses, and I'm positive that there were oral and written accounts of creation. It's well known that the ancients had writing, so it's not far-fetched in any manner that there were written accounts of creation before Moses was alive. The rest of the book of Genesis was directly written by Moses, guided by the Holy Spirit.
